‘A City in Masks: How Brisbane fought the Spanish Flu’

Presentation by historian Matthew Wengert.
In 1919 Brisbane was exposed to the world’s deadliest pandemic – the ‘Spanish Flu’. The population then was 190,000 and more than 300 people died. Matthew Wengert is a professional historian and has documented the impact of the 1919 Spanish Flu in Brisbane including the then Town of Windsor.
Matthew will talk about his research for the book ‘City in Masks’
