Remembrance Walk and Book Launch

Join the Friends of Balmoral Cemetery and Morningside Scouts for a book launch, re-enactment of WWI cease fire, followed by a silent, sunset walk of Remembrance around the inside perimeter of the cemetery to view the tea lights on the 57 memorials and 298 graves of soldiers and one army nurse who served in the First World War. This event marks one hundred years since the guns fell silent on the Western Front. This time of evening will be the time when on 11 November 1918 at 11 am in France the guns fell silent.
The book being launched is Friends of Balmoral Cemetery research of the 298 veterans and one army nurse who served in the First World War, who returned to Australia after the war, who lived in the community and when passed away were laid to rest in the cemetery.
Park outside the cemetery and walk to the top of the hill shelter for the launch.
