Join the Queensland Maritime Museum’s volunteer guides on an historical walk starting from the Museum. The route covers the dry dock caisson, coal wharf area, the early railway system, dry dock history, South Brisbane Library, South Brisbane War Memorial, the Ship Inn and explores pre-Expo area history. Join the Queensland Maritime Museum’s volunteer guides on the steam tug Forceful for morning tea. This will be followed by a guided tour of the ship and an historical walk around the Museum. The route covers the Boiler House, historic steam engines, the Engine Room of HMAS Diamantina and the remaining rail line and coal wagon. Plus various steam equipment and models. Intimate Stories, Challenging Histories In our 40th anniversary year, Oral History Queensland and Oral History Australia, in partnership with State Library of Queensland, welcome proposals for our 2019 biennial conference in southern Queensland.
