North Stradbroke Island Museum on Minjerribah
The North Stradbroke Island Museum on Minjerribah tells the Island’s story to the many visitors who come to enjoy its magnificent natural attractions. The Museum focuses on the social history of the Island and has displays highlighting the Aboriginal history of the Island, early colonial history, shipwrecks, sand mining and fishing industries, as well as the Dunwich Benevolent Asylum.
The Museum is only a short walk from the water taxis and barges. You can combine your Museum visit with a stop for a coffee or lunch, have a stroll through the historic cemetery and a browse through the Salt Water Murris Art Gallery for a lovely day trip to Dunwich.
We are aiming to be open Thursday – Sunday from 10am to 2pm. However, we suggest you call before visiting to check if we are open (3409 9699).
